Owner and Lead Designer at Diel Design & Interiors, Cathy Diel began her career in commercial design in 1996. Her concentration was in planning and design of retail stores throughout the Southeast. In 2002, Cathy transitioned into residential design, opening Diel Design & Interiors in the Myers Park area of Charlotte. Collaborating with home owners, architects and builders to create beautiful homes throughout the United States and abroad continues to bring Cathy great joy. The most rewarding part of Interior Design has always been solving functional challenges while creating a beautiful aesthetic specifically designed for that homeowner.

As her design business continued to flourish, Cathy made the decision to follow her heart and her grandfather's footsteps. She opened her own furniture store and design showroom. Statement Home, which is situated in one of Charlotte's oldest neighborhoods showcases Cathy’s inherit style and attention to detail. She has partnered with the best manufacturers in the industry for the last 20 years bringing the freshest products and ideas directly to her beloved clients. Her design expertise and two decades of hands on experience in the field are what back her often used phrase, "This is what you need to do". While decorating one's home, the hardest part is making decisions and having trust that those choices will render the desired result. That is the confidence Cathy brings to her clients and projects.

"It's been quite an adventure running an interior design firm and store while being a wife and mother of two boys and two dogs! My clients, family and friends are what motivate me every day to be the very best I can be." Cathy Diel .
